Conclude Bargaining

Bargaining concludes with a new collective agreement that sets the minimum terms for contracts going forward. These contracts might last from 3-6 years and a new round of collective bargaining would need to begin before they expire.

Initiate Collective Bargaining

The worker organization would initiate collective bargaining with an engager organization to negotiate a collective agreement for all contractors covered by the Game Developer occupational group as defined in the final bill.

Form or Join a Worker Organization

In order to engage in collective bargaining, workers would need to be represented by an organization during negotiations. This could be a new organization or one or many existing unions, guilds, etc.

Royal Assent

The bill officially becomes law.

Third Reading

The newly amended bill will have a final vote.

Committee of the Whole House

Debate will be open to the whole of parliament to propose and debate amendments to the bill.

Second Reading

The bill will have its second reading in parliament to introduce the changes suggested by the select committee. You can read more about those changes in the Bill Overview section.

Above this line are things that might happen in the future. They don’t have any dates associated with them because the timing doesn’t follow a strict schedule. Most of the events have to happen in this order and if almost any of them don’t happen, everything that follows will not happen.
